Department of Samhita and Siddhanta is to prepare skilled Ayurvedic scholars by empowering with application of basic concepts of Ayurveda in upholding the doctrine physical, mental and spiritual health for all. To provide the knowledge of basic concepts of philosophy with their applied aspects in Ayurveda. To impart practical training on the utility of concepts of Ayurveda in Prevention, Diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of the diseases.

Services provided
Undergraduation program – 5 subjects (Samskrita, Padartha Vijnanam evam Ayurveda Ithihasa, Moulika siddhanta evam Astanga Hridaya, Charaka samhita purvardha and Charaka Samhita Uttarardha) are handled. Pedagogy (teaching training program) is a part of departmental activity. Samskrita Sambhasha Shibira (Training students with the basics of Samskrita for learning and communication) is also effectively conducted. -Shloka Patana (Method of Reciting Samskrita verses) for proper understanding is also carried out.

Sharir Kriya’ deals with study of the normal functions of the body. The whole purpose of Kriya Sharir is to explore the normal functions of the living organism, their principles, their mechanism and their actions. Ayurved is concepts of Sharir Kriya deals with the functions of Dosha, Dhatu and Malas.
Kriya Sharir subject mainly deals with these 3 pillars. The basic concepts, knowledge, and applicability of Tridosha (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), Sapta Dhatus (Rasa, Rakta, Mamsa, Meda, Asthi, Majja, Shukra), and Trimala (Mutra, Purish, Sweda) are very important in the critical understanding of the disease. Prakruti (concepts of genetics), Mana (mind, cognition, memory etc), Nidra (Physiology of sleep), Ojas, Bala (Physiology of immunity) etc.
